Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Secure ("Secure," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and discloses information when you use the Secure iOS app. Secure is operated from California, USA.

1. Overview

Secure is a breakup support and journaling app. We designed Secure to be local-first: your entries and progress are stored on your device by default. If you choose to sign in, certain data can be backed up and synced through Firebase so you can restore it across devices.

2. Information We Collect

Information stored on your device

By default, Secure stores app data locally on your device, including journal entries, daily check-ins, guided exercise progress, reminder and app settings, prompt history, no-contact date, layout preferences, onboarding state, and sync metadata.

Information collected if you choose to sign in

If you sign in with Apple or Google, we use Firebase Authentication to authenticate your account. Depending on the provider and what you allow, account information available to us may include your Firebase user ID, email address, display name, and profile photo.

If you are signed in, Secure may sync and store the following in Cloud Firestore to support backup and restore: journal entries, daily check-ins, guided exercise or session progress, reminder and app settings, prompt history, and your no-contact date.

Technical diagnostics

Secure may use Sentry for crash and error diagnostics when it is configured in production builds. Diagnostics may include technical information such as app version, device and operating system details, timestamps, error traces, and your Firebase user ID if you are signed in. Secure is configured to avoid sending default personally identifying information and to filter sensitive fields such as journal responses, prompt text, and email fields before diagnostic events are sent, but no filtering system is perfect.

Support communications

If you contact us at feelsecureapp@gmail.com, we receive the information you choose to include in your message, such as your email address and the contents of your support request.

Information we do not collect for advertising

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use your journal entries or guided exercise content for advertising, data brokerage, or marketing profiling.

3. How We Use Information

We use information only as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide and operate Secure;
  • save your app data on your device;
  • authenticate your account if you choose to sign in;
  • sync, back up, and restore your data across devices if you use cloud backup;
  • maintain app security, fix bugs, and improve reliability;
  • respond to support requests and feedback; and
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

4. When We Share Information

We share information only in limited circumstances:

  • Firebase / Google: If you choose sign-in or cloud backup, Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore process the account and synced data needed to provide those features.
  • Apple or Google sign-in providers: If you choose Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In, those providers help authenticate you under their own terms and privacy policies.
  • Sentry: If crash diagnostics are enabled in a production build, Sentry may process technical error data as described above.
  • Email providers: If you contact us by email, your email provider and ours will process that communication.
  • Legal and safety reasons: We may disclose information if we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with law, legal process, or enforceable government requests, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

5. Data Retention

Local data remains on your device until you delete it, uninstall the app, reset your device, or otherwise remove it. If you enable cloud backup, synced data remains in cloud storage until you delete your account and cloud backup through the app or otherwise request deletion where applicable.

Support emails may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, troubleshoot, and maintain support records. Diagnostic data may be retained according to our provider settings and for as long as reasonably necessary to investigate and resolve stability or security issues.

6. Your Choices

  • You can use Secure without signing in.
  • You can sign out of Secure, although signing out does not automatically delete local data already stored on your device.
  • You can delete local app data from the app's account settings.
  • If you are signed in, you can delete your account and cloud backup from the app's account settings. Local data on your device may remain unless you also delete it separately.
  • You can choose whether to grant Apple or Google sign-in access.
  • You can choose whether to contact us by email.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information handled by Secure. However, no method of electronic storage, transmission, or security measure is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International And Cross-Border Processing

Secure operates from California, USA, and uses service providers that may process information in the United States and other jurisdictions where they operate infrastructure. By using Secure, you understand that your information may be processed and stored outside your state, province, or country, subject to applicable law.

9. Children's Privacy

Secure is not intended for anyone under 13 years old, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or portability of certain personal information. Because Secure is primarily local-first, the scope of information we can act on may depend on whether you used optional sign-in or contacted us directly.

If you are a California resident, Secure does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If California privacy law applies to us and provides you with additional rights, you can submit a request by emailing feelsecureapp@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.

11. Third-Party Services

Secure may link to or rely on third-party products or services, including Apple, Google, Firebase, and Sentry. Their handling of data is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, not this Privacy Policy.

12. Changes To This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice in the app or by other reasonable means. The "Last updated" date above indicates when this Privacy Policy was most recently revised.

13. Contact Us
